Spiritual Significance of Tulsi Vivah 2025
The Tulsi plant marriage festival signifies the union of the material and spiritual worlds. Devotees believe that participating in the Tulsi Vivah 2025 rituals bestows blessings equivalent to conducting a thousand human weddings.
The festival holds deep meaning for both married and unmarried women:
Married women perform the puja for a happy, prosperous married life.
Unmarried girls pray for an ideal life partner like Lord Vishnu.
In Hinduism, Tulsi Mata symbolizes purity, devotion, and the feminine principle of divinity. Her marriage with Lord Shaligram (Vishnu’s avatar) symbolizes eternal love and the victory of dharma.
Story Behind Tulsi Vivah
According to ancient scriptures, Tulsi was once a devotee named Vrinda, married to the demon King Jalandhar. Her chastity and devotion made Jalandhar invincible. To restore balance, Lord Vishnu disguised himself as Jalandhar, breaking Vrinda’s meditation. Realizing the deception, Vrinda cursed Vishnu to become a stone (the Shaligram) and immolated herself. From her ashes grew the sacred Tulsi plant.
To honor her devotion, Lord Vishnu declared that he would marry her every year as Tulsi Vivah. Hence, the ritual of marrying the Tulsi plant to Shaligram or Krishna is performed with grandeur and reverence.
